Have you felt it? That subtle shift in the air hinting at the first taste of fall? We have, and this week we are incredibly excited to embrace it by welcoming Katie Jo Glesing to the show. Katie is the Founder (and possible Physic Vampire) of Boo812: Paranormal Research and Edutainment.
Katie embraces her affinity for all things Woo to explore beyond the veil with fellow researchers and individuals all across Kentucky and Indiana. It was absolutely fascinating to hear her story, learn more about local lore, and the current state of paranormal research as it receives increasingly more mainstream acceptance. We also hook each other up to Katie’s spirit box and try some channeling of the spirits in the shop, as well as “Choose our own Adventure” with the help of a ghost in the machine. Welcome to the fall, y'all. Featured Beverages:

Trellis Brewing Receives Construction Permit Approvals New Brewery Breaks Ground in Smoketown Neighborhood August 28, 2023 (Louisville, KY) - The owners of Trellis Brewing are excited to announce that they have received all necessary construction permit approvals and have begun construction for its new 7,500-square-foot brewery and taproom located in the redeveloped Merchant’s Ice Tower property at 827 Logan Street in the Smoketown neighborhood. The brewery will be able to brew 1,000 barrels annually and will feature indoor seating for approximately 100 customers, with additional seating in a large community space outdoors.
“We look forward to being a welcoming space for everyone from beer nerd to beer curious - and we'll have plenty of options for non-beer drinkers as well,” said Kyle Jahn, Trellis Brewing co-founder. “Getting the construction approvals was the final step we needed before moving forward with the brewery. And now we’re one step closer to enjoying a beverage there.” The 10-barrel brewhouse will focus on grain-forward, clean lagers to highlight the unique flavor of Kentucky-grown barley, rye, and wheat through a partnership with South Fork Malthouse (Cynthiana, KY), along with other modern IPAs and stouts. Trellis also plans to begin a barrel program for fermenting and aging a variety of mixed fermentation styles. "We are thrilled to bring our vision of a neighborhood brewery to life in Smoketown," said co-founder Ryan Reed. "That vision also includes twenty new jobs for the neighborhood - we can't wait to share our passion for great beer with the community.” Construction has begun and Trellis Brewing is expected to open its doors to the public in winter 2023. This week the guys are joined by the one and only David Castellon. David has seen it all in his 15 years in and around craft beer: from pounding porters in the family restaurant to building craft beer in early 2000s SoCal, guiding tours through Anchor’s historic brewery, to his current role building brand and culture with Gravely Brewing.
This conversation was as fascinating as it was wide-ranging. Come for the beer talk, stay for the film analysis (and some questionably earned LAT accolades). Featured Beers:
